Adderstone Living deliver Sunderland social housing scheme
Adderstone Living, the dedicated social housing division of Newcastle-based property business Adderstone Group, has delivered its second development since the company was launched in March this year.
The 17 high-quality two and three bed family homes on a brownfield site in Whitehaven Close, Fencehouses, Houghton-le-Spring have now been handed over to Karbon Homes, who have experienced strong demand from potential tenants and owners, most of whom are expected to move in before Christmas.
Adderstone Living’s two directors, Stephen McCoy and Peter Galbraith worked on the £2.5m land-led project with the Karbon Homes team, with both partners having identified demand for quality, affordable housing in what is a highly accessible location, close to a host of local amenities.
Stephen McCoy, Director of Adderstone Living said: “Whitehaven Close is a great example of land-led’ development where we source, secure planning and then develop out before handing over to a housing association. Karbon Homes have been the perfect partner and it gives us great satisfaction to help them deliver against their ambitious programme.”
Stephen Riding, Development Contracts Manager at Karbon Homes said: “We’re very pleased to accept hand over of this high-quality development. We know there is strong demand for affordable homes with low running costs, and these new family homes deliver precisely that.
“We look forward to seeing families all settled in, and able to lay foundations for successful lives.”
