Double joy for Recom Solutions with places on two public sector frameworks
Recom Solutions has won places on two frameworks which offer soft facilities management and construction services to the NHS and the wider public sector.
The Soft FM, Asset Compliance and Security Services Framework provides access to Recom’s passive fire safety expertise, which is a growing area of business for the Trafford Park-based construction project management specialist.
The framework, launched by NHS Shared Business Services, is expected to save the public sector tens of millions of pounds compared with the cost of buying direct from suppliers. It will run until July 2022 with the possibility of an extension to 2024.
It is free to access for all public sector organisations in the UK, including local authorities and educational establishments as well as the NHS.
Recom has also secured a place on the new NHS SBS Public Sector Construction Works Framework, which was launched last week and runs until December 2023, with the option to extend it to 2027.
The company has been named as a north west contractor for public sector and healthcare works with a value of up to £2.5m.
Recom already has a place on the Construction Consultancy Services Framework, which was launched by NHS SBS in 2018.
The company is also on the Construction and Property Professional Services Framework procured by Manchester City Council for its use and for other public sector organisations.
Fast-growing Recom recently recruited Mike Kelly from the University of Manchester as head of its passive fire safety division, and has built a team of experienced surveyors and installers to provide fire stopping expertise at commercial, public and residential buildings across the UK.
The aim of passive fire safety protection is to contain fires or slow their spread from one area of a building to another.
Recom is an approved supplier under the Fire Accreditation Scheme (FIRAS) and is a member of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection.
Director Jason McKnight said: “Both frameworks align with our growth strategy for the north west and we are extremely pleased to have secured places on them.
“The frameworks guarantee high-quality services by contractors with proven track records of delivery, and our appointments reflect the high regard in which Recom is held. They also build on our previous success in being appointed to the NHS SBS framework for construction consultancy services.
“We have invested heavily to build a strong team of experts for our passive fire safety division, which is a growing area of our business. We are working with a number of public sector organisations in this field, including the NHS, schools and universities, as well as new and existing residential schemes.
“The Grenfell tragedy brought into focus the need for robust passive fire safety measures in buildings and the requirement for rectification works. We are proud to be playing our part in helping to improve building safety across the north west and beyond on behalf of an expanding client base.”
