Sheffield entrepreneur launches new art business to support "vibrant" community
A Sheffield entrepreneur has announced that she is launching a new type of Covid compliant gallery.
The Art Post is a subscription-based company that sends local artwork via postcards to support artists and allow people to learn about art despite the closures of public venues.
Rachael Sprague, founder of the business, will be donating 10 per cent of the profits to charity Rethink Mental Illness.
The Art Post postcards display information about the artists featured and signpost the subscriber to more of their work.
Lynne Chapman, an artist set to be featured in the box, commented: “Sheffield has an amazing vibrant community of artists, [but] it doesn’t have an ethos of buying expensive real artwork and it’s really hard.”
Rachael added: “I just hope it has the impact for the artists that we anticipate.”
