Yorkshire developer reveals plans to bring forward construction of 75 Stockton homes

A Yorkshire urban regenerator has announced that it has agreed on a deal to bring forward a development of homes in the North East.

Muse Developments, based in Leeds, has exchanged a deal with registered provider Thirteen to bring forward the production of 75 homes at the £300m Northshore regeneration scheme in Stockton.

Previous phases of development delivered in partnership with Thirteen have included a new HQ office building and 35 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership.

The partnership will submit a planning application in March 2021, aiming to begin work on site during autumn this year.

Simon Dew, development director at Muse, commented: “The previous phases of the Homezone at Northshore have been very successful and over the past 10 years we have established a vibrant riverside community within walking distance of the town centre.

“The delivery of this latest phase of homes despite the current challenging times is a significant achievement for all involved and we’re looking forward to delivering further high-quality, affordable homes close to the river.

“We’re delighted to be partnering once again with our friends at Thirteen, as we work together to boost the local economy, create opportunities for local people and generate community wealth at a time it’s needed most.”

Miles Crossley, head of land at Thirteen, said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Muse and partners on this exciting development.

“These 75 new homes will not only increase the supply of affordable homes to rent in a stunning riverside location but will also support a new generation of homeowners with shared ownership homes available too.”
