Yorkshire pharmacy developer announces plans for new "state-of-the-art" building
A Yorkshire pharmacy and property developer has announced that it has submitted a planning application for a new “state-of-the-art” building.
Advent Developments, based in Chop Gate, has submitted plans for a new pharmacy building in Adel on Sir George Martin Drive.
The existing Adel Pharmacy is aiming to relocate from its current premises on Long Causeway in order to secure the long-term future of the pharmacy, following confirmation that the Adel Surgery will close.
Tim Reeve of Advent Developments said: “We have engaged with the local community regarding our plans for the old reformatory and received overwhelming support for the regeneration.
“This includes the conversion of the listed buildings, high quality new build homes and a care home facility.
“It was through this engagement process that we became aware of the pharmacy’s need to relocate and were keen to help.
“Due to critical timing issues the pharmacy application has now been submitted and the planning application for the reformatory site will follow imminently.”
Pete Burrows of the Adel Pharmacy commented: “The pharmacy has provided vital services to the local community for many years and news that the surgery is to close has caused our patients great concern.
“I am delighted we have identified a potential new location with the help of Advent Developments and sincerely hope the local community will support the application to secure the long term provision of our much needed services.
“The modern, new site enables us to extend these services further.”
