Third Yorkshire branch for electrical wholesaler as vehicle charging points take centre stage

An electrical wholesaler has announced that it is opening its third branch in Yorkshire to help support the use of electric vehicles.

Nationwide electrical wholesaler Denmans is opening a new branch at Ribston Trading Park in Leeds, which includes “rapid” electric vehicle charging points.

Installing the chargers supports Leeds City Council’s commitment to meet clean air targets by encouraging more use of ultra-low emission vehicles in the city and having more easily accessible charging points.

The new branch is Denmans’ 74th in the UK and third in Yorkshire, joining the existing Huddersfield and York sites.

Luke Goodall, manager at Denmans’ Leeds branch, said: “There is no doubt across our 70 plus strong branch network we are seeing an increasing number of tradespeople now using electric vans.

“Having the rapid electric chargers means customers can top-up their vehicles at the branch while they are collecting their electrical supplies and it doesn’t need to knock their already tight schedules.”

Paul Atherton, Denmans’ managing director, commented: “It was the right time to expand into Leeds as our branches in Huddersfield and York have continued to grow as customers in Yorkshire increasingly value our ability to combine a locally-focused service with the strength of being part of a national company offering a diverse, innovative and competitively-priced choices from our own and the brands to meet their electrical and lighting needs.

“Installing the rapid electric vehicle chargers is a big part of our approach to providing great customer service and is supported by the hard work our teams have put in to maintaining great levels of service, value and product availability across the business during these challenging times for everyone.”
