IoD Sussex appoints Michele Augousti as chair
The Institute of Directors (IoD) has appointed Michele Augousti to chair its Sussex branch.
Michele has more than 25 years of executive leadership and industry expertise and has worked with organisations across tech, FMCG, manufacturing, construction, financial services and not for profit.
As an executive management interim she helps businesses with strategic, operational, programme and change management challenges. She also supports non-profit organisations including the Coast to Capital LEP.
She founded one of the first organic food and wine distribution companies, which merged to become part of the retail arm of a national PLC.
In 2011, Michele was invited by the IoD to join and help develop the Sussex branch. She has since taken on more responsibilities and profile, culminating in her appointment as chair.
The IoD is the UK’s number one organisation for directors, providing connections, influence and world-class professional development. As chair, Michele will be the voice of business for the region, working to ensure that the views of Sussex directors are represented within the IoD’s influential, national Policy Voice.
Michele said: “I am delighted to take my long-standing association with the IoD to the next level as branch chair. I have a passion for bringing local business leaders together and encouraging them to take full advantage of the range of benefits the IoD has to offer.”
Faisal Khan, regional chair of IoD South, said: “This is a highly-deserved appointment for Michele, a long-standing supporter of our Sussex branch. I know that members will benefit from her leadership and experience as we recover from the pandemic and build back better.”
