National tool hire firm quadruples Doncaster presence with new service centre
A national tool hire firm has announced that it is launching a new service centre in Doncaster four times the size of its old site.
Speedy, an equipment and tool hire firm, is expecting to take on additional staff at the new 15,000 sq ft centre on Sandall Stones Road in Kirk Sandall.
The centre will cater to Doncaster’s 50 companies that comprise one of the UK’s biggest rail clusters.
It will provide specialist rail engineering equipment, including battery-powered assets for rail welding and track placement for renewal and maintenance projects.
A managed trackside lighting service will also provide rail customers with site surveys, bespoke eco lighting systems and ongoing maintenance and management services throughout their projects.
The centre will also provide the region’s businesses with access to Speedy’s training for the first time, which will include dedicated learning facilities.
An electric vehicle charging point will be available for customers, with the centre also powered in part by solar energy.
Kelly Adams, regional director for Yorkshire & the North East at Speedy, said: “The new centre will enhance the vital services the region’s contractors need to deliver the major development and infrastructure projects underway across the region – including the regeneration projects underway across central Sheffield and Doncaster.
“Doncaster is also a strategically important location for our national rail services business.
“The town is among one of the biggest rail conurbations in the country, bolstered most recently by Siemens’ new train manufacturing factory being constructed nearby in Goole.
“We recognise that local contractors also want to do right by the communities they operate in, and our range of equipment and services will ensure they can deliver projects as safely as possible while minimising their impact on the environment.”
