Morley Hayes Success at I Do Wedding Awards

Derbyshire hotel, golf, and leisure complex Morley Hayes has been named East Midlands Wedding Venue of the Year at the I Do Wedding Awards for the second successive year.

The venue on Main Road in Morley beat off competition from high profile venues across the region to win the coveted award, which was presented at a virtual awards ceremony, hosted by Radio DJ Stephanie Hirst.

Now in their sixth year, the I Do Magazine Wedding Awards celebrate success and recognise the achievements of wedding suppliers from across the Midlands, Yorkshire and Humberside.

The Best Venue award recognises establishments that have outstanding wedding venues that offer an exceptional wedding experience and put customer satisfaction at the heart of everything they do.

Dubbed the ‘People’s Awards’, they are decided entirely by the votes of the couples who have personally used their services.

Morley Hayes has been performing wedding ceremonies since 2006. In 2012 the venue was granted a license to perform outdoor weddings in a specially constructed wedding dome, situated in the picturesque Morley Hayes gardens.

In 2017, the venue launched its woodland wedding service, which gives couples the chance to take their vows amongst wildflowers and beneath spectacular towering pines, horse chestnut and beech trees.

Woodland wedding ceremonies take place in a private lodge, situated in a secluded part of the Morley Hayes woodlands.

2019 saw the launch of The Meadow at Morley Hayes - a natural wildflower meadow, where the wedding party can enjoy drinks and canapes following the ceremony. There are plans for blessings to take place in this area too.

Speaking of being crowned East Midlands Wedding Venue of the Year for the second successive year, Andrew Allsop, managing director of Morley Hayes, said: “We’re delighted to have retained our title of Venue of the Year, especially as it is voted for by the couples themselves rather than a panel of judges.

“Whether it’s a wedding reception, a full civil wedding or civil partnership ceremony, our dedicated team of wedding co-ordinators work hard to create a wedding package that is just as individual as our guests.

“The last 12 months have been hugely challenging for wedding venues across the UK and we look forward to being able to host weddings at Morley Hayes again in the coming months.”

Launched in 2009, I Do Magazine is read by more than 30,000 couples every year and is widely considered the definitive guide for sourcing the best local wedding suppliers in Yorkshire, Humberside and the Midlands.
