Yorkshire pudding pie maker set to double headcount with £150k investment
A Yorkshire pie maker has announced that it is aiming for growth following a £150k investment.
The Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company, based in Malton, is aiming to complete a new manufacturing facility and double its workforce with the funding.
The £150k investment included £50k from NPIF – BEF & FFE Microfinance, part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, and £100k invested directly by BEF.
The company is best known for hand crafting Puddies, a type of pie made with Yorkshire pudding instead of pastry.
The completion of the manufacturing facility will help the business to meet growing demand from online customers, supermarkets and independent retailers.
Ted Harrison, joint owner of The Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company, said: “NPIF and BEF have been incredibly supportive in helping us to grow the sales of our lovely Puddies, they’re great examples of financial institutions doing their bit to support small businesses gain access to finance.”
Andy Clough, investment manager at BEF, commented: “The Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company have an excellent opportunity to grow sales by bringing new retailers onboard.
“The funding and strong management team will help them to realise their ambitious growth plans.”
