Gorilla’s Commitment To Charity Throughout 2021

Gorilla Accounting is delighted to announce we have committed a whopping £12,000 to various charities across the UK throughout 2021.

We understand the importance of giving back to our local communities, as well as other charities around the UK; that’s why we’ve committed to the following pledges throughout 2021:

  • We are committing to planting the equivalent of one tree every day during 2021, with £2,000 donated to ensure that we do our bit during the ongoing climate emergency.

  • We are donating food to Bolton Food Hub to ensure those in need within the local area have access to vital food supplies throughout the year.

  • We will continue to support Bolton Lads and Girls Club by pledging £2,500 this year, to help this brilliant charity support children in the local area, providing them with a safe and fun environment in which to learn, play and develop.

  • 2 members of the Gorilla Accounting team will be running the London Marathon (virtually if it doesn’t go ahead), and we have committed to help raise £5,000 between them for worthy causes.

  • We also have a member of our team taking part in the Manchester Marathon, and we have committed to helping them raise over £2,000.

Dan fallows, Director at Gorilla Accounting says that the charity work has always been important to Gorilla, “Right back when we first talked about setting up Gorilla Accounting, we wanted charity and community work to play an important role. We wanted to make sure that Gorilla didn’t just provide a great service to its customers, but also that it helped give back to the community, both locally and further afield. We are very proud of what we have achieved so far and look forward to continuing in 2021 and beyond”.

Gorilla’s Charity Efforts During 2020

Our charity and community work is a big part of our DNA; look at the great projects and charities our team helped throughout 2020, which was one of the most challenging years on record for charities:

Christmas Party Heroes

With Coronavirus cancelling staff Christmas party plans around the UK, we felt that it was essential to do some good with the unused money we would have put towards our office Christmas party.

With that in mind, we decided to donate to Xmas Party Heroes, who are encouraging businesses to donate to charities in need by simply offering up the budget that would have otherwise gone towards a Christmas party.

Fylde Rugby Foundation

We believe it’s essential that local sports clubs are funded as effectively as possible, which led us to becoming a Corporate Benefactor of Fylde Rugby Foundation.

The foundation provides free or subsidised programmes to schools, whilst also offering walking rugby to those over 50, so the older generation can keep active. There are also regular community holiday camps over school holidays which are designed to improve self-confidence, eye to hand coordination and social skills of young people.

Alongside their sporting activities, they also offer Breakfast Clubs in some of the most deprived areas of the Fylde coast; these sessions include fun and engaging wake-up games and tag rugby, followed by a hot breakfast to help kickstart the children’s day.

Big Bolton Dash

We were delighted to raise £1000 for last year’s Big Bolton Dash - all in aid of Bolton Lads & Girls Club.

Seven of our employees took part in the charity event, which helped to raise funds for a new bereavement counselling service for young people in the area.

Overall, £19,000 was raised by local businesses who took part, a huge accomplishment in aid of a fantastic local charity.

Bolton Lads & Girls Club

Along with raising money for Bolton Lads & Girls Club through the Big Bolton Dash, we also took steps to become a patron for the local charity.

Each week, the Club delivers a wide variety of programmes to nearly 3,000 young people ranging from recreational opportunities, performing arts and a diverse range of sporting activities, with an overall membership currently at over 8,000 children and young people.

We are delighted to be heavily involved in fundraising efforts and will continue to play a role in raising vital funds in 2021.

The entire team here at Gorilla Accounting are completely committed to the charities close to our hearts, and we’re always on the lookout for more opportunities to help out charities in the surrounding area.
