Morpeth Golf Club Tee'd up for £1million worth of investment.
Exciting plans to enhance and upgrade Morpeth Golf Club are underway, with investment worth upwards of £1 million pounds.
Extensive refurbishment of the clubhouse has already been completed, with a contemporary new bar and dining area being installed along with the introduction of a new locker room and upgraded shower facilities.
Club Management are also keen to enhance the dining experience and have announced designs for an eye-catching new seating area built on the 1st floor of the clubhouse, giving diners a birds eye view of the course and surrounding area.
Chairman Steve Jemmett commented “We want to make the club as welcoming for everyone, not just golfers, and we’re keen to make the club an “evening destination” too. Customers tell us they love our food, especially our Sunday lunches, so we want to open up that experience to as many people as possible and create a welcoming, socially-distanced environment for everyone”
Extensive works on the course have already started.
Course Manager John Scurfield and his team are busy developing a more competitive course layout alongside continued preparation work to ensure pristine surfaces.
“The investment from the club into the course is amazing. It’s great to see so much activity and I feel these are very exciting times for the club” said John. “We have embarked on a 5 year bunker development plan”
More than £100,000 has been spent on specialist ground maintenance machinery to ensure every aspect of the course remains in perfect condition.
The club is currently welcoming new members but places for the new season are expected to be snapped up quickly with hundreds of keen golfers making plans to get back onto the fairway.
