New tanning shop expands three days after opening following "unprecedented" demand

A North East tanning shop has announced that it is expanding after just three days following “unprecedented” demand.

The Tanning Shop, headquartered in Darlington, has opened a new store in Middlesbrough this week - and is expanding three days after first opening its doors.

The store, in Middlesbrough, saw “unprecedented” demand when it opened on Monday, with the owners now deciding to add an additional three beds to the venue.

The opening of the store created six new jobs at Park Parade opposite Pallister Park in Teesside.

The company commented: “The new store has had unprecedented demand and for the first time with Middlesbrough, we are adding beds to a store within 3 days of opening.”

“Middlesbrough is outperforming most of our 86 stores in the group.”

John Corner, head of marketing for The Feel Good Group, the holding company for The Tanning Shop, commented: “The shop has opened out with the best tanning beds in the industry, I was born in Middlesbrough and it’s fantastic the salon opened on the company’s 30th anniversary in my hometown and so close to our head office in Darlington.”

Adam Mooney, the founder of The Feel Good Group, said: “In our 30th year of trading, with 15 years with our head office in the North East, it’s great that we are opening a store on our own doorstep in Teesside, hopefully, the first of many in the Middlesbrough and Stockton area.”

“Hopefully, the opening will coincide with the last lockdown and we can look towards unfettered trade for the next period of time.”
