Anwyl Partnerships set to transform long stalled housing scheme
Anwyl Partnerships, specialists in the provision of residential land and build developments, has been a awarded a £5.2million project by Wales & West Housing to deliver 34 homes at Cefn Mawr in Wrexham.
Under the plans, 34 affordable homes will be built for rent, including two and three-bedroom houses, as well as two one and two-bedroom bungalows.
A previous development at the site had been left unfinished since 2007 and was considered a ‘blight on the community’, having become rodent infested and a target for anti-social behaviour.
Having acquired the site, Wales & West Housing successfully resubmitted plans to build a total of 34 quality affordable homes for rent, with work set to begin in June this year.
Tom Anwyl, Managing Director of Anwyl Partnerships commented: “We continue to work in partnership with Wales & West Housing, delivering homes in areas across North Wales identified as needing additional housing stock.
“This project will have a far reaching social and environmental impact not only by providing much needed homes for rent, but redeveloping a site originally earmarked for housing that’s unfortunately falling into an ever increasing state of decay.
“Work will begin at the site in June, at which point the area will be cleared, paving the way for the roll out of this fantastic new development.”
Gary Cook, Regional Development Manager for Wales & West Housing in North Wales, said: “We’re thrilled to be developing this site which has long been set aside for housing into a new community which will make a big difference to the lives of so many people.
“The homes will be for social rent - meaning they are genuinely affordable for residents - and built to a high standard, providing a safe, secure, warm and energy efficient place to live.
“Affordable homes are needed more than ever before in Wales and we are proud to be playing our part in meeting some of this demand in the Wrexham area through this new development in Cefn Mawr.”
