Yorkshire pharmacy sold to neighbouring Scarborough chemists
A specialist business property advisor has announced its sale of a Yorkshire pharmacy.
Christie & Co has announced the sale of Midway Pharmacy on Ramshill Road in Scarborough, North Yorkshire to Aston Chemists Limited.
The pharmacy formed part of a group of four business trading under the same name, with another in Scarborough and two in West Yorkshire.
A spokesperson for the former owner commented: “Christie & Co has been very professional and instrumental in the sale of our branch on Ramshill Road.
“We are now in a position to focus on our existing branches closer to home and continue to work on expanding our brand within West Yorkshire.”
Zafar Iqbal of Aston Chemists said: “We have owned three pharmacies in Scarborough since 2010, having previously traded for over 25 years in Lancashire.
“Midway Pharmacy was adjacent to one of our branches and it made sense to consolidate the two pharmacies under Aston’s while we had the opportunity.
“Aston’s are well-established in Scarborough and have five other stores around Lancashire, Warrington and Glossop.
“We look forward to developing pharmacy services in Scarborough with our new and existing teams.”
