First images of luxury retirement development revealed
Work on a new retirement living community in Heaton Mersey is set to complete by the end of 2021.
Construction began last Autumn at The Woodlands, a brand-new Adlington Retirement Living development, situated on Woodlands Road in Heaton Mersey.
Last month Ken Clarke and David Blunkett wrote an open letter to Boris Johnson, urging him to create a task force to build more specialist retirement communities, enabling retirees to remain independent in their own homes.
The new Heaton Mersey development is a perfect example of such a community, offering 63 stylish one, two and three-bedroom retirement apartments for the over 55’s, in a safe and secure environment, with the benefit of patios or walk-on balconies to most apartments.
This week, Adlington Retirement Living has released new pictures showing what the exterior of the age-exclusive apartments are expected to look like.
Alexandra Johnson, Sales and Marketing Director for Adlington Retirement Living, said: “Our approach to independent living, ensures Homeowners don’t have to compromise on their lifestyle, social life or independence. We aim to provide a community spirit, whilst promoting independence and individual respect.”
Four of Adlington’s sites have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event. The Folds in Romiley and the Bridges in Macclesfield won the Silver Award in 2020 and 2019, Adlington House in Otley won the Gold Award in 2017 and Adlington House in Portishead won the Bronze Award in 2015.
Alexandra Johnson adds: “More of our Homeowners are choosing to move to retirement communities whilst they’re fit and healthy, to future-proof their retirement. We offer a personal approach to care to ensure that each individual receives just the right amount to maintain their independence, allowing them to enjoy their retirement to the full.
“Even though many of our Homeowners do not need specialist care, our teams are always there in the background giving them and their families comfort that in the event of an unexpected fall help is immediately to hand.”
