Up to 30 jobs lined up for launch of new Yorkshire bar and kitchen

A new hospitality venture launching this week is set to create up to 30 jobs after a £1m investment.

The Treehouse Bar and Kitchen, in Keighley, is launching this Friday (21 May) following a £1m investment from its owners.

The ‘unique’ new bar and food outlet will create between 20 and 30 full time and part time jobs on the former site of Chaplin’s Bistro on Oak Street.

The property was purchased by its owners, the Stott brothers, two years ago, and has since been refurbished and modernised.

Benjamin Comstive, manager of the new venue, commented: “There’s no venue quite like the Treehouse in the Haworth area at present, as most of our competitors are much more traditional in their approaches.

“We plan to be open day and night, seven days a week, with our menu containing pizzas, burgers, craft beers, cocktails and much more.

“Among other features, our building will include a public area at ground level, plus a basement that can be booked for private parties and other events, as well as an outdoor terrace overlooking Haworth Beck.

“It will also offer live sport, shown across 10 screens throughout the venue.

“The government’s anti-Covid-19 measures meant pubs and restaurants couldn’t admit indoor customers in recent months, a ban which delayed our opening plans.

“But prime minister Boris Johnson then confirmed the prohibition would end on Monday 17 May, so we’ll be ready to open on Friday 21 May and are really excited at the prospect.”
