New Sheffield salon brings "positive boost to the city" following £30k refurbishment

A hairdresser with nearly two decades of experience has launched his first salon in Sheffield.

The Wild Colour, on Snig Hill, comes after the impact of the pandemic inspired hairdresser Chris Wild to launch his own hair business.

The salon has undergone a £30k refurbishment programme, occupying two floors of the building in the city’s legal quarter.

Chris commented: “There has been so much negativity around coronavirus across the world, including in Sheffield. I wanted positivity in my life, and for Sheffield.

“Sheffield should be vibrant and colourful and full of positivity. There have been so many negative announcements recently, I wanted to bring a positive boost to the city.

“I have always wanted to do this. I know it is a risk but this was meant to be.

“I looked at several different sites but I was attracted to the city centre. This is a well known location and easy for clients to access.”

“I have worked hard for my own salon. I just want it to be really open to everyone whatever age, race or gender and have a positive vibe, with lots going on.

“I am a flamboyant person and the salon will reflect that, with a professional and chilled feel. My focus is solely on hairdressing, including colour.

“The whole industry has been looking forward to returning to work and concentrating on how clients can stay safe as the lockdown restrictions ease.”

Sheffield’s Wake Smith Solicitors acted for Chris Wild on the lease of the building, which was a former apartments’ reception.

Laura Sanderson, associate at Wake Smith, added: “We were delighted to be involved in such an exciting project for Chris and wish him all the best with his new venture.”
