Caspian Insurance secures top 25 position in Best Small Companies to Work for list

Manchester-based life insurance broker, Caspian Insurance, has been announced as one of the UK’s Best 100 Small Companies To Work For, 2021.

It has ranked in 22nd place of companies with between 25 and 74 people, as well as being placed 39th and 5th position for the Top 100 Companies To Work For in the North West and Top 10 Insurance Firms To Work For, respectively.

Formally known as the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for, the awards recognise businesses that strive to make a difference and set the precedent for looking after their employees.

Caspian Insurance, which marks its fifth anniversary in July, has achieved a lot in a short space of time. Established in 2016 with a team of 4, which has grown to over 70, being recognised on this scale, particularly as a top five insurance firm to work for, is a hugely significant commendation for the ambitious broker.

Emily Behan, director of people at Caspian Insurance, said: “We’ve always had a strong focus on people’s wellbeing, career development and our company culture and the last 12 months have shone a light on that. The pandemic meant our team had different requirements, so we quickly adapted to refocus our employee benefits. These have become much more personalised. Instead of addressing wellbeing as a standalone topic, we have brought a truer work-life balance through flexible working and a greater emphasis on physical exercise incentives, health care, increased holidays and mental well-being support. As much as free breakfasts and team lunches are always appreciated, after this past year, they only scratch the surface of the kind of benefits that employees need, deserve and value most.”

Oliver Rayner, managing director at Caspian Insurance, added: “We’re extremely proud to have been recognised in all three of these categories as it cements Caspian Insurance’s position as a company that truly values its employees. Our team is highly skilled and knowledgeable about all of the different products we offer, and that comes from our careful mix of an excellent recruitment process and dedicated training scheme.”

Caspian was praised for half of its senior leadership team being female.

All of the winners are decided based on genuine feedback from anonymous employee surveys.
