Retailer launches £150,000 Huddersfield store.
One of the UK’s fastest growing retailers ;aunched eight stores in the same day, with a new 3,000 square foot outlet in Huddersfield among them.
Flooring Superstore launched its store on the Castlegate Retail Park at a special event in April.
The retailer has invested £150,000 and created three new jobs as part of a store roll-out plan in 2021.
Covid-19 restrictions on non-essential retail meant it had to wait until 17th April to begin this roll-out, which saw eight stores, including Huddersfield, launched on the same day, the others being in Newcastle, Doncaster, Norwich, Lincoln, Orpington, Basingstoke, and Hull.
Two further stores, in Carlisle and Reading, have subsequently also opened.
Flooring Superstore Regional Manager Greig Anderson said: “With restrictions now behind us, we’re delighted to have been able to officially launch our store in Huddersfield.
“As one of the largest towns in the UK, it fits perfectly with our strategy of opening stores in populous areas and in the heart of the town.
“We’re on a busy retail park with great footfall and we are looking forward to introducing ourselves to the people of Huddersfield and the wider Kirklees area, as well as making our own important contribution to the local retail economy.”
Flooring Superstore only began opening stores in 2017 and now has 30 across the UK, making it one of the country’s fastest growing businesses, not just in the flooring sector, but the retail sector as a whole.
By the end of the year, it is projecting to have 50 stores open.
Shoppers visiting Flooring Superstore in Huddersfield have access to an unrivalled range of carpets but also a huge choice of other flooring, such as vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles, EvoCore and the UK’s largest selection of artificial grass.
Greig explains: “What that means is people don’t have to shop around if they want different flooring in their homes, which now tends to be the case.
“Plus, as we started life as an online retailer in 2012 and have grown our outstanding e-commerce platform, shoppers who come to our stores are offered the same prices as they would if they bought via the internet.”
Whenever it opens at a new location, Flooring Superstore reaches out to local charities or organisations in need of support, via its corporate social responsibility programme.
Greig adds: “We’re always happy to make donations of flooring to local good causes as our way of giving something back to areas where we receive such fantastic support through our stores.
“So, we would love to hear from charities, voluntary organisations or groups doing great work in the Huddersfield community who may need flooring for a particular project.”
The store is also running a golden ticket promotion which involved people who come in, regardless of whether they are buying flooring or not, being invited to take one of 150 tickets. 145 of these tickets will have 15% off flooring, four will give people £250 to spend in-store and one golden ticket will give a lucky person £1,000 to spend on flooring ranges of their choice.
