Housebuilder helps youth team kick off the new season in style
A group of girls at AFC Stoneham are starting the post-lockdown season on a positive footing, thanks to Barratt Homes.
The five star housebuilder, which is bringing new homes to Hampshire, has sponsored the under 11s girls ‘Panthers’ team and has kitted the players out with brand-new gear.
After a challenging 2020, and ongoing lockdowns in 2021, Barratt Homes wanted to ensure the Southampton club was supported as they enter a new season. The club, based in Eastleigh, welcomes the housebuilder’s backing, after long lockdowns have not only suspended play, but the girls have also missed out on the social activity and the chance to keep active.
Mark Stupple, Chairman of AFC Stoneham, said: “2020 was a hugely challenging year for everyone and, with many obstacles still to overcome in 2021, AFC Stoneham are extremely grateful for Barratt Homes’ support.
“Our young players will wear their new kit with pride, and I know having a sponsor will give them added confidence for the new year. They are already loving their football, and it’s great to have support from such a well-known brand.”
Tammy Bishop, Sales Director for Barratt Homes Southampton division, said: “We always want to offer our help to organisations in the communities where we are building new homes, and this is now more important than ever.
“AFC Stoneham, like many clubs, will have faced a challenging year because of Covid, and we hope our support will give them a positive boost as they start the new season.”
Barratt Homes is bringing new homes across Hampshire, including at Harbour Place in Bedhampton, Kings Chase in Romsey and Berewood Green in Waterlooville.
