On-demand app TrimCheck celebrates its 10,000th user thanks to time-saving software connecting barbers with customers across the UK

Lockdown was a tough time for many of us trying to get a good haircut, but for one young entrepreneur it was the perfect opportunity to launch TrimCheck, a new app connecting barbers with customers across the UK.

Founder, 22 year old Moaz Nabiel, is on a mission to make getting a haircut as easy as ordering a takeaway. Like an Uber for haircuts, the SaaS platform helps customers to search, book and pay for a reviewed barber at their chosen location - anywhere from their home, the local park or a barber shop.

Since launching in May 2020 the app has proven popular with 10,000 customers joining the booking platform since its launch. Last month, Trimcheck saw a 261% increase in bookings as Brits were able to get their hair cut at home again, with nearly 500 barbers signing up to the platform over lockdown whilst shops were closed.

The software also boosts earnings for barbers who can save costs by going direct to customers. Moaz comments, “At the moment around 80% of barbers either pay rent for a chair or split their earnings with a barbershop owner, and for customers it can be a tedious process to find the right barber and then wait in line. TrimCheck is for a new generation who are used to having on-demand convenience at their fingertips, and want to save time whilst still getting a great haircut.”

The platform has two apps, one for barbers and one for customers. For barbers it means they have more control over their business, setting their own hours, services, prices, payment methods and cancellation policies. And for customers they can assess barber portfolios before they risk their hairlines, with their preferred barber meeting them at a chosen location with the ability to track their journey.

To date Trimcheck has raised over £800,000 and is looking to launch a training academy with the hope of becoming a globally accredited & reputable institution for young barbers.
