Miller Homes Becomes Main Kit Sponsor For Allestree Juniors F.C.
New homes builder, Miller Homes, has become the main kit sponsor for long-standing Derby-based football team, Allestree Juniors Football Club.
Following the launch of its latest Derbyshire development, Kedleston Grange in Allestree, the housebuilder’s logo will now appear on the club’s Under 8s ‘Marseille’ team, headed up by coach, Rob Fearn.
Founded in 1977, the club was made famous locally by the presence of Nigel Clough, the ex-Derby County manager who grew up in the village and made his footballing debut for the team.
Commenting on the company’s sponsorship of Allestree Juniors F.C., area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, Alastair Parsons, said:
“We’re delighted to have partnered with Allestree Juniors F.C., a club that has such an established presence within the community. So many children, both past and present, have played a part in making the club the success it is today, and we’re honoured to be a part of that journey now.
“The past year has only emphasised the importance of a tight-knit community group - and in particular, placed greater emphasis on grassroots clubs like Allestree Juniors. The club’s hardworking officials, including Rob, have continued to serve the wider area, teaching them about the significance of teamwork and fitness.
“The last 12-months have been challenging for us all, and no less so for these groups and clubs that so many of us in the community of Allestree depend on. We’re proud to have backed the purchase of the team’s new stripes and I look forward to seeing them go from strength-to-strength over the next few months.”
The team trains weekly at Landau Forte College Derby, less than a 10-minute drive from the Kedleston Grange development.
On the partnership, the club’s Under 8’s coach, Rob Fearn, added:
“Even more so today, it’s vitally important that grassroots football teams are supported within all communities. Children can benefit so much from playing team sports, from improving physical fitness to their mental health and social skills. Clubs like ours have allowed children to return to some sort of normality, allowing them to enjoy the sport they love with their friends.
“It’s been fantastic to have the backing of the Miller Homes team, who have kindly sponsored the team for two consecutive seasons. We’re very thankful for their support.”
The new neighbourhood includes a selection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, and one and two-bedroom apartments, in the desirable suburb of Allestree.
