Pegasus Group pair gain Chartered Surveyor qualification
Two property specialists with national consultants Pegasus Group have qualified as Chartered Surveyors.
Ben Thompson and Harry Travis completed their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) while working out of the Group’s Liverpool and Manchester offices respectively.
Both Ben and Harry are confident that gaining this industry recognised qualification heralds a period of expansion for Pegasus Group’s property team, both in terms of internal growth aspirations as well as delivering a more diverse range of services to potential and existing clients across all sectors.
Ben said: “Professionally, this accreditation brings real stature to the property team, instilling client trust and potentially generating new work as we showcase our qualifications and abilities.
“While personally, it is immensely satisfying to have gained an industry recognised award that I have for life.”
Harry said: “The property department at Pegasus was only set up just over three years ago and has already grown to meet increasing client demand for our service offering. We continue to have big ambitions, and with myself and Ben now MRICS qualified, hope to play a big part in the property team’s future success.
“The APC is the gold standard for property professionals and with two chartered surveyors on board, there is a real opportunity to expand the work Pegasus can offer.”
The Pegasus Group property team was set up by Director Simon Tarr in 2018. The initial ambition was to enable the business to offer a complete integrated solution to existing clients, with the provision of expertise across the whole development lifecycle including site identification & acquisition, asset & estate management, due diligence and valuation.
This was achieved for a number of clients, particularly in the renewable energy and telecoms sectors, but the aim remains to provide such services to the wider commercial and residential development market too.
The Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) ensures that candidates are competent to represent RICS and meet the high standards of professionalism required to become a chartered surveyor.
Ben, aged 25, graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BSc Hons in Real Estate in 2018. He joined Pegasus Group as an Acquisition Surveyor in September 2020.
He said: “This is a very exciting time to be part of the Pegasus property team, and my personal goal is to use this accreditation to further grow our residential presence.
“Pegasus has a large and experienced planning team, but with mine and Harry’s Chartered Surveyor status we hope to open new doors and grow the Group’s involvement in the residential and commercial property sectors.”
Harry, aged 29, qualified from Harper Adams University in 2013 with a degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. In February this year, he also joined Pegasus Group as an Acquisition Surveyor.
He said: “I was nearing the end of my APC process when I joined Pegasus, and the company was and continues to be incredibly supportive – we are recognised and encouraged as individuals for our skillset.
“I am over the moon to be one of the first chartered surveyors at Pegasus and am looking forward to some exciting times ahead in a field about which I am passionate.”
