Motivair invests in infrastructure overhaul to boost productivity for UK expansion

Motivair has plans for further business growth after overhauling its IT infrastructure and investing in new solutions that will help boost the company’s productivity and protect its business from cyber attacks.

With over 60 years of experience, Motivair now has four four offices across the UK and engineers nationwide, serving businesses in all industries. Recognising that it had outgrown its IT support provider and on-site IT infrastructure, Motivair knew that to remain competitive and continue expanding, it needed a proactive, modernised cloud-based IT infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency.

Motivair selected OGL Computer as its technology partner, thanks to OGL Computer’s proposed solutions reducing the time that Motivair’s IT team spent on repetitive IT tasks and enabling them to concentrate on more important IT projects.

Jason Morrison, System Administrator at Motivair, explains: “The improvements made to our network configuration have allowed more throughput across the network and the updated technology has enabled employees to feel more efficient and not held back by the limitations of the system’s performance.”

Seeking proactive security measures, Motivair has also modernised its cyber security by investing in a next-generation anti-virus, Carbon Black Defense, from OGL Computer’s Cyber Security division, CyberGuard Technologies.

Although Motivair has always had solid security practices in place, ever-changing cyber security attack methods meant that its IT hardware needed some modernisation to boost overall performance across the network. Jason Morrison, System Administrator at Motivair, explains: “The cyber security threats are changing rapidly. This is why we decided it was time for a more proactive approach to help monitor potential threats more closely.”

CyberGuard’s Security Operations Centre (SOC) continually monitors Motivair’s network and endpoints for any potential threats in real-time, to identify serious incidents and inform the company about those, in order to mitigate them before they occur. Motivair is one of a small number of UK SMEs utilising 10GB technology across its entire network, this has led to improved productivity.

Steve Bennett, Enterprise Solutions Architect at OGL Computer, concluded: “Motivair has adopted various solutions which give them access to our IT and cyber security support service teams. A proactive IT infrastructure and cyber security strategy is essential nowadays for companies of all sizes. Instead of the internal IT team having to waste time wading through false positive alerts or managing simple IT problems, we do that on their behalf so they can focus on more important IT project work such as improving its infrastructure for the business’ continued growth.”
