New sports bar and rooftop brunch spot create 50 jobs at Halifax nightclub

A Yorkshire clubbing venue has announced that it is creating 50 new jobs after undergoing a £200k refurbishment.

Townhouse, formerly known as the Potting Shed, is creating more than 50 jobs at its Halifax location, in a move that it says will boost the local economy “significantly”.

This follows a £200k makeover for the 15,000 sq ft Fountain Street venue, which is spread across four floors, including a basement sports bar, and a roof terrace offering brunch and afternoon tea.

Andy Ingham, operations director, said: “We wanted to make use of every inch of this huge space and offer everyone who visits an experience that they will remember.

“There is a range of food offerings on each floor and the different themes mean there is something for everyone and every occasion.

“We’re really proud of being able to provide jobs for so many people and, in fact, we need more people to come on-board!

“Townhouse is a huge venture for us, but it’s the perfect time to be opening and Halifax is the ideal location for it. Several new bars and restaurants have opened in the area and the town is bustling again.”

James Maddison, general manager, commented: “No stone has been left unturned at Townhouse and we really have thought of everything.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming people to the venue and seeing them have a really amazing time with their friends and family.

“We’re sure it will be a big hit with locals and those from further afield alike.”
