Pioneer & Countryside bring affordable homes to East Birmingham

The Pioneer Group has launched its largest development to date in Stechford, marking the completion of a collection of 83 homes delivered by the leading mixed-tenure developer, Countryside.

The milestone brings to fruition The Pioneer Group’s Manor House scheme, the second in a two-phased development, which comprises seven homes for shared ownership and 23 rent-to-buy properties, 18 of which are apartments.

Building work at Manor Farm, the development’s first phase, was completed by Countryside in 2019 and included 25 homes for shared ownership, 16 rent-to-buy homes and 12 homes for open market sale.

All of the collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes and two-bedroom apartments at Manor Farm and Manor House have already been fully reserved.

To mark the completion ceremony, The Pioneer Group and Countryside were joined by Jess Phillips MP for Birmingham Yardley and Councillors for Glebe Farm & Tile Cross, John Cotton and Marje Bridle.

Simon Wilson, CEO of The Pioneer Group, said: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Manor House development. As the country faces a housing crisis, one of our key targets is to build 250 new homes by 2025. I am proud that, as part of this initiative, this landmark development delivers 83 high quality homes in Stechford that will stand the test of time and make many people very happy for years to come.”

Daniel McGowan, Chief Executive, Countryside Midlands, commented: “To have reached completion at Manor House with all homes reserved is a true testament to the high quality of the homes and a recognition of the importance of The Pioneer Group’s investment in Stechford. Local people need and deserve affordable, sustainable and well-built places to call home and we are very proud to have played our part in The Pioneer Group’s ambition for this exceptional development.”

In addition to celebrating the new builds, The Pioneer Group also presented Glebe Farm and Stechford Residents Group with a cheque for £5,000 to contribute towards local activities and services provided within the community.

The Pioneer Group’s £12m two-phased programme has been part-funded working in partnership with Homes England and the Matrix Consortium.
