Challenges of Covid to be marked at Director of the Year Awards
The Institute of Directors (IoD) has launched its annual search for the most talented business leaders in London, the South and South West.
Nominations and entries are now being sought for its prestigious Director of the Year Awards which celebrate leadership talent, success and achievement among directors from the business, public and third sectors.
New for 2021 is the Agility and Resilience award, in recognition of directors who have risen to the extra challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The deadline for entries is 13 September 2021. The awards ceremony will be held virtually on 11 November 2021.
Faisal Khan, IoD South regional chair, said: “Our awards are among the most prestigious and credible in leadership. The combination of the pandemic and preparations for Brexit meant that 2020 produced exceptionally tough operating conditions, forcing directors to reassess business models and respond at speed with bold, innovative decisions.
“You can enter more than one category and entry is free. We are also looking for more event partners to help us recognise directors’ monumental efforts.”
Jake Standing, Business Advisory Partner at accountants, business and financial advisers Kreston Reeves will be one of the judges of the awards. He said: “We’re delighted to be supporting and judging the IoD Director of the Year awards this year and to be sponsoring the Sustainability Director of the Year category.
“We are particularly passionate about taking a sustainable approach to business – it’s vital for directors and businesses to carefully consider people, planet and profits in their planning. We know there are many inspirational, passionate and innovative directors who deserve to be recognised for their efforts so are really looking forward to hearing their stories and celebrating their successes and achievements with them.”
