Curtain rises on arts partnership for Graywoods and Sheffield Theatres

THE stage is set for the next act in an ongoing partnership between Sheffield Theatres and city business turnaround and insolvency practice Graywoods.

The company has extended its corporate partnership with the world famous award winning theatre complex for a further year.

“I have been visiting Sheffield Theatres ever since I was a child and I know how important a part of the fabric of Sheffield this is,” said Graywoods partner Deborah Lockwood.

“We are talking about three great performance spaces - the Crucible, the Crucible Studio and The Lyceum - which really are an essential part of the cultural life of our city.

“A show like There’s something About Jamie started life thanks to Sheffield Theatres and it is now a hit around the world, taking the city’s name to Broadway and beyond,

“At the same time, though, Sheffield Theatres is still completely about reaching out to our own communities, introducing young people to the power of great theatre.

“I enjoyed visiting these theatres when I was young, I enjoyed taking my children as they were growing and, by extending our corporate partnership, I believe we are doing something to secure this great arts complex for future generations.

“After the year we have just been through, we have to ask ourselves what the city would look like without Sheffield Theatres.

“Sheffield Theatres puts Sheffield on the map for so many reasons and the Graywoods team are proud to be supporting them as they continue to produce great theatre.”
