Workspace vision in Dukinfield set to create many jobs

A Tameside businessman, who has invested £2m in an out of town workspace in Dukinfield, gave details today of the job opportunities he is set to create from the move.

Jason Dixon, Group CEO of Office Tech Holdings, said that a variety of roles at Globe House, Globe Lane (the former Bardsley Building) will be needed to meet the needs of an estimated 700 people who would work there.

Thoroughly committed to building a stylish, modern-day environment for a flexible working community, Jason is already using a team of Tameside-based building contractors and trades to complete the refurbishment work, which will be finished by November.

In addition he has now highlighted a diverse range of opportunities in building management, hospitality, sales and support as well as customer service.

Top of the agenda is an experienced Facilities Manager and a Chef, Food & Beverage Manager, as well as a number of part-time catering and bar staff for his 46 seat bistro and coffee shop.

An alliance with Tameside College’s catering department hopes to fill some of the roles.

There will also be jobs for a number of membership administrators and IT support staff as customers take advantage of everything on offer in the building, including a plug and play experience in the 82 hot desk facility.

An initial 250 memberships have already been sold and another new tenant has been signed up. EVJ Training Academy, specialists in beauty and aesthetics courses, will join Unilever as first tenants in the property.

Jason has also set up a membership offer with Hyde-based gym, Ultimate Fitness, to give both sets of customers a one day free pass and 20% off the cost of a respective membership.

Scott Gledhill, Founder of Ultimate Fitness, commented: “We have two facilities who would benefit from the collaboration - it’s a great way of introducing new customers.”

He also expects there to be opportunities in his Group businesses who have outgrown their current premises in Ashton and will make their home in the building.

Docutech Office Solutions, MPS Legal and Secure Hosted Solutions, specialist providers of outsourced print solutions, covering agile working, cyber security and e-document management systems, all expect to have roles available in the future for professional IT, coding and sales personnel.
