Clarion’s specialist contentious private client team further strengthened with new appointment
The contentious private client team at Clarion, which is one of the largest dedicated teams in the North, has appointed Samantha Lauriston as an associate.
With six years’ experience in the specialist field of will, trust and estate disputes, Sam joins from a national law firm where she advised clients in Yorkshire, the North East and London as well as advising on international disputes.
Along with the rest of the team, Sam specialises in all areas of contentious private client work but has a particular interest in financial abuse cases, for example, where there has been a breach of attorney duties or exploitation of the vulnerable and elderly. Sam is also experienced in dealing with matters such as estate disputes; disappointed beneficiaries; financial provisional claims; trust disputes; executor disputes; and will validity challenges.
“Over the last 10 years, we’ve built up our team of dedicated specialists to create one of the largest and most respected stand-alone practices in the North of England,” explains partner Lynsey Harrison who leads the team. “We are one of only three firms in the area who are ranked in the top tier of the legal guides for contentious probate work and, as of this year, we are the only Yorkshire firm to have a top tier ranking for both contentious and non-contentious private client work, something we are really proud of. With her solid track record of advising on will, trust and estate disputes and excellent reputation, Sam is a welcome addition to the team, further boosting our capability at a time when we have seen a significant increase in demand for these specialist services.”
Sam adds: “Clarion’s contentious private client team is renowned in the Yorkshire region and beyond, and I am particularly excited to be working with Lynsey who is known as one of the UK’s leading litigation experts in this niche area of law. As well as already knowing some of the Clarion team, I have only ever heard positive comments about the firm’s ethos of making people feel valued, and its focus on looking after its clients.”
