Boxing legend Johnny Nelson becomes first-ever ambassador for Rutland’s family-owned business, MBST UK

Ahead of its 10-year anniversary this November, Rutland based MBST UK, the UK’s only importer of a life-changing medical technology, is celebrating the appointment of boxing legend Johnny Nelson as its first-ever ambassador.

Sheffield-born Johnny, aged 54, is the longest-reigning world cruiserweight champion of all time and successfully defended his title against a record-breaking 13 opponents. Now a retired boxer, he is a boxing pundit for Sky Sports.

After suffering from years of neck pain, lower back problems, and hand injuries following his sporting career, Johnny underwent MBST therapy and has seen the life-changing benefits of the treatment.

Johnny said: “I’m over the moon to be MBST UK’s first ambassador. When I first came across MBST, I didn’t believe the results could be possible. I had a crippling back issue and for at least 10 years, I was seeing different physios, I tried acupuncture, I tried every single thing going. The next step in my treatment plan was surgery, but I was able to avoid that thanks to the success of the MBST treatment. It’s mind-blowing, if I’d used it a year before I retired it would’ve given me another three to four!

“And the beauty is, anyone can benefit. For active sportsmen and women it will prolong your career and there’s nothing artificial about it. It’s getting the best from your body without putting anything into it. But it’s not just for professional athletes, it’s a fantastic treatment for anyone struggling with injuries or joint or muscle pain. I haven’t had any additional treatment in a year and feel better than ever, it literally changed my life. Hopefully through my role as ambassador we’ll be able to ensure that even more people know about it and benefit like I have.”

Molecular Biophysical Stimulation Therapy (MBST) is a non-invasive magnetic resonance therapy that restores and rejuvenates cells, communicating with damaged and degenerated cartilage, bone, ligament, tendon, and muscle cells and encouraging them to repair and regrow. Once the cells of the affected area or injury have been sufficiently stimulated from MBST therapy, the cells will continue to grow and develop by themselves.

Elisabeth Clare, Founder and MD of family owned business MBST UK, which has its headquarters in Tinwell, Rutland, commented on the appointment: “To have Johnny on board as our first-ever ambassador is an honour. He is a true sporting legend and someone that understands the vital importance and benefits of musculoskeletal treatment. He is incredibly passionate about MBST therapy having seen the benefits first hand, and understands the monumental impact that the treatment can have on someone’s quality of life. He is the perfect MBST champion

“Johnny joins us with a wealth of knowledge in the sport and exercise world and we’re looking forward to helping more people with his support. MBST has helped people to walk again, enabled patients to avoid surgery, and allowed others to live pain-free. It is also a game-changer for professional athletes which is why we’ve worked with some of the UK’s top football and rugby clubs, boxers like Johnny, as well as athletes who have just competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It is our mission to make sure that as many people as possible can access this treatment and live life to the fullest.”

Following the introduction of MBST devices into the newest clinics in Sheffield and Horley earlier this year, MBST UK intends to continue its rapid expansion, with a long-term goal of having MBST therapy available in every major town and city across the UK. There are also plans for a podcast, discussing athlete injuries and the link between injury and mental health.
