Thousands of homes to be built across North East and Yorkshire with £131.5m funding boost

A North East housebuilder has announced that it is set to receive more than £130m of funding to create thousands of new homes.

Karbon Homes, based in Gosforth, is entering into a strategic partnership with Homes England as it aims to create 2,200 new homes across the North East and Yorkshire.

Homes England will provide Karbon Homes with £131.5m in funding for the houses, which will be equally split into homes for affordable and social rent.

At least ten per cent of the new homes will be in rural areas, with a further ten per cent being designed for people requiring additional support needs.

Paul Fiddaman, chief executive of Karbon Homes, commented: “We’re delighted to be entering into this strategic partnership which will enable us to provide additional affordable homes across the North East and Yorkshire.

“We have a strong track record of delivering good quality, affordable homes and this will enable us to continue to grow our housebuilding programme and to deliver a wide range of homes, for a range of tenures, that will meet customer needs and strengthen local communities.”
