IoD appoints Richard Huxley as Cheshire chair
The Institute of Directors (IoD) has appointed Richard Huxley to lead its Cheshire branch.
The managing director of Nantwich-based NWF Fuels joins as the IoD ramps up its support to help directors to rebuild, recover from the pandemic and prosper.
Richard has held senior executive and commercial leadership roles in complex businesses including Brammer and RS Components and is an active mentor within The Prince’s Trust and Virgin StartUp.
He has achieved business success in countries around the world for global companies including Hitachi, Samsung and Arrow Electronics Inc. and has lived both in Europe and Asia where he developed and managed multi-country, diverse teams to serve both local and global customer bases.
Outside of work, he is a keen runner, trail walker and cyclist and has completed endurance challenges in the UK and overseas.
Richard said: “It is an honour to lead this active and well-connected community of directors in Cheshire. I’m looking forward to driving collaboration between members and providing them with the connections, learning opportunities and inspiration to grow. By further cultivating this positive environment, I believe the IoD can help to deliver wider economic successes for the county.”
Steve Bennett, chair of IoD North West, said: “We are delighted to secure Richard to lead our Cheshire team. He will be the standard bearer for local directors, providing support where it is needed most along with inspiration through our business events as we recover and rebuild the IoD across the North West region.”
Richard will work alongside a team of branch ambassadors to provide local directors with connections, professional development, and an influential lobbying voice.
