Pharrowtech expands leadership team to support growth and further wireless tech innovation

*Leading mmWave innovator welcomes VP Operations & Manufacturing, Kees Steenbergen, and VP Finance & Risk, Peter van Wely *

Pharrowtech, the leading designer and developer of mmWave hardware and software for next-generation wireless applications, today announces that two new executives are joining the leadership team to support the business’s commercial growth.

Kees Steenbergen, previously of Qorvo, joins Pharrowtech as VP Operations & Manufacturing and Peter van Wely, previously of CM.com, as VP Finance and Risk.

“After the successes of the last year, including launching our first-generation evaluation board, it was time to further build out our leadership team,” comments Wim van Thillo, CEO and co-founder of Pharrowtech. “Our priority when seeking out these individuals was to ensure our operations strategy remained robust and that our finance and risk capabilities could support the next stage of our growth. At Pharrowtech, we put a lot of emphasis on our collaborative culture and the expertise of the team, and I am confident that Kees and Peter are the right people to help drive the company forward.”

Kees Steenbergen, Pharrowtech’s VP Operations and Manufacturing, brings with him a wealth of experience at innovative start-ups and enterprise-scale technology companies, including Nokia’s Bell Laboratories, GreenPeak Technologies B.V, and Qorvo Inc. His role at Pharrowtech will be fundamental for maintaining the business’s successful trajectory, consisting of developing production capabilities to guarantee superior performance and building a quality-oriented operations organisation to ensure best-in-class service to Pharrowtech’s customers.

Kees adds: “Throughout my career I have been focused on the development of technology that will enable unlimited communication between individuals. As the emerging leader in mmWave technologies, Pharrowtech’s mission to bring high speed connectivity to everyone, everywhere, was immediately compelling to me. In addition, Wim and the team’s recognition from day one that quality and customer service are crucial to success means that they have built a viable business with an engaged and committed team. I am delighted to be joining the business at such a formative time in the company’s growth, and look forward to sharing my expertise in product development at high-volume manufacturing businesses as we extend Pharrowtech’s customer base further.”

Peter van Wely, Pharrowtech’s incoming VP Finance and Risk, brings over 30 years of experience working as a hands-on financial leader for global technology businesses. His legacy spans enterprise tech companies such as IBM and CM.com, as well as telecoms and semiconductor start-ups. This combination, in particular his role growing Sitel Semiconductors into an established international fabless IC company through to its strategic sale in 2011 to Dialog Semiconductors, makes him a perfect fit for supporting Pharrowtech’s rapid growth trajectory. His role at Pharrowtech will encompass financial management and reporting, governance, and legal matters.

Peter comments: “Despite not having a technical background myself, I have always been passionate about what technology can enable for society at large. As such, I’m incredibly excited to contribute to Pharrowtech’s success, as the business’ technology can fulfil the need for high-volume wireless data transmission for everyone, everywhere, which, through the COVID-19-related increase in home working, has become a global challenge.”
