Cignpost Diagnostics announces new partnership with The Ryder Cup
Cignpost Diagnostics has been selected as the official supplier for the 2020 Ryder Cup. The new partnership is seeing the company providing travel testing for the Ryder Cup Europe travelling party from the United Kingdom. The company continues to provide testing for the European Tour.
The Ryder Cup is golf’s greatest team contest, bringing together 12 member teams from the U.S. and Europe for a three-day match. The competition takes place every two years, with the venue alternating between courses in the United States and Europe.
Responding to the new partnership, Christian Corney, CEO of Cignpost Diagnostics, stated the increased importance of PCR testing for the reopening of events:
“As lockdown restrictions continue to ease, the likelihood of community transmissions will increase, especially given the return of mass-scale events such as those we saw in relation to Wimbledon and the Euros. Relaxing certain restrictions is a step in the right direction towards our return to normality, but with cases still running at a high level in the UK and USA, we need to ensure that measures are in place, especially in large scale events.
As an organisation, we are delighted to be expanding our partnerships within the golf world and to be helping to ensure the safety of athletes across the world.“
Paul Dunstan, Operations Director, Ryder Cup Europe: ‘We’re delighted to continue to work with Cignpost Diagnostics who will be Official Testing Partner to Ryder Cup Europe. Cignpost have delivered fast, reliable Covid-19 testing across many countries for the European Tour and we look forward to extending this relationship ahead of this year’s Ryder Cup.’
