Putting their way to the top: Local home builder supports West Bradford Golf Club following first championship win in two decades
Local home builder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West is continuing to support the communities in which it builds with a sponsorship of the West Bradford Golf Club.
David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West first sponsored West Bradford Golf Club in 2019 and saw the team secure the leading title in the 1st Division Bradford 8-15 League Championship, after a 20 year wait.
However, the 2020 championship was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with David Wilson Homes pledging to continue its sponsorship of the club throughout this difficult period and into the 2021 season.
The 2021 championship was announced and the £500 sponsorship from David Wilson Homes was used to provide much cherished team shirts for the players. West Bradford Golf Club continued its strong performance and placed 1st in the 2021 league, retaining their title for a second year.
On the sponsorship West Bradford Golf Club Team joint Captain, Mark Ryan commented: “After a year of Covid restrictions, 2021 brought with it a fresh start. Our members were buying into the team spirit after a long isolation period, with our player numbers doubling as a result.”
“David Wilson Homes’ support of West Bradford Golf Club has meant we can continue to grow our team, offering a sporting outlet for people of all ages from 18 - 60+. The sponsorship has made a huge difference and has allowed our team to look professional and give them a real confidence boost to put on their performance and retain our title.”
Managing Director of David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, Ian Ruthven said: “David Wilson Homes is dedicated to supporting the communities in which it builds, including local community groups like West Bradford Golf Club who have given local residents an outlet to enjoy following a difficult year.
We are delighted that our sponsorship has been able to support the growing team and are proud of the team for retaining their title for a second year. We look forward to watching their performance in the 2022 season!“
