Victoria Square invests £500,000 in personal care renovation

Northern Ireland’s leading leisure and retail destination, Victoria Square, situated in the heart of Belfast, has invested almost £500,000 in a refurbishment of its personal shopping suite and personal care facilities.

The personal shopping suite has undergone a modern renovation and now offers both virtual and in-store styling. The enhanced space encourages a stress-free shopping service with the ability to shop at Victoria Square’s array of retail brands in a comfortable and contemporary environment.

The investment has also significantly upgraded the centre’s parent and child changing facilities on level two, creating a brighter, more welcoming and user-friendly experience for visitors to the centre. The facilities have been added too with the introdution of an inclusive toilet and upgraded accessible toilets. The improvements complete a programme to renovate Victoria Square’s personal care offer, following previous investment to the additional parent and child changing facilities in the centre’s lower ground level prior to the pandemic.

Victoria Square has also revealed a 17.14% increase in sales when compared to 2019 at the centre since reopening in May, driven in part by the continued evolution of the centre’s retail mix. Recent additions to the centre include the first bricks and mortar store for Northern Ireland-based FitPink Fitness, the women’s athleisure retailer and Gym+Coffee, one of Ireland’s largest and most-recognised athleisure brands.

This investment news follows the signing announcement of Craghoppers, the global outdoor and adventure travel specialist which curates technical and innovative clothing and accessories for customer’s adventures. The store is set to open in late September to Belfast’s adventure-hungry consumers.

Commenting on the recent investment, Russell Banham, UK Head, Commerz Real, said: “Our aim is to ensure that Victoria Square provides a warm and welcoming environment for everyone and this approach is reflected in everything we do. Victoria Square caters for the needs of a diverse range of visitors. The boost in our sales performance since reopening and the introduction of new brands is evidence the centre continues to keep our consumers front-of-mind with a better offer and experience.”
