Local housebuilder supports Throckley Community Hall with £1,000 donation
Local five star housebuilder, Barratt Developments North East, is continuing to support charities and organisations in the areas in which it builds with a £1,000 donation to a community centre in Throckley.
The donation to Throckley Community Hall will help the community centre’s provision of social, recreational and educational activities for the local community close to Barratt Developments’ Meadow Hill development, which will launch in Throckley later this year.
The donation was made as part of the housebuilder’s Community Fund initiative, which sees a £1,000 donation made to a different local charity each month.
Construction of the Barratt Homes’ nearby Meadow Hill development in Throckley is expected to commence later this year and will see over 300 stylish three and four bedroom homes made available to a variety of potential buyers.
Michelle Mitchell of Throckley Community Hall, said: “We are extremely grateful to Barratt Homes for their generous donation. Covid-19 has had a huge impact on our local community, and more individuals are reaching out to our centre for support and to reintegrate into the community post-lockdown. Local facilities like ours play such an active role in improving the health and wellbeing of nearby residents, and this donation will make a big difference in ensuring that we are able to continue to offer our support to the community.”
Natalie Donnelly, Sales Manager at Barratt Homes Meadow Hill, added: “We are really pleased to hear that our donation to Throckley Community Hall will help them to continue supporting the local community. The events and activities held in the centre gives individuals the chance to have regular contact with others and to get out now that it is safe to do so. We hope that our Community Fund donation will help to make a positive impact on the organisation and the local community that it serves.”
