Prime Time for clearer messaging as boiler experts put foot on the gas

An Essex-based boiler specialist is calling for better clarity for energy customers, as news of a government scheme to pay homes to install new gas boilers (despite long-awaited plans for clean heating incentives) hits the headlines.

The plans have been described by one analyst as wasteful and baffling when it’s clear that a clean heating revolution is just around the corner and gas prices are rocketing.

Prime Time Boilers, which is based at Choles Yard, North Weald, has suggested that whilst the plans might mean welcome potential for savings for lower income households, the mixed messaging around the differing energy schemes is making life difficult for customers.

There is so much going on right now and it is increasingly tricky to pin down exactly what is available to whom and when, explains managing director Peter Horlock.

We welcome anything that gives customers extra options and support of course but when expert analysts are finding the latest rumours “baffling” what hope do the customers have?

At the moment, an increasing number of our customers are enquiring about the forthcoming ban on gas boilers and are seeking the alternative hydrogen options. We’ve already been installing hydrogen-ready boilers and have access to some very advanced technology to enable us to offer this to customers.

’However, with so many options and schemes, it is crucial that everyone is able to benefit and get the right solution for them. Better communication from the government would help here.

Currently celebrating its 10th year of business, Prime Time Boilers is expanding and is currently on the lookout for gas engineers, boiler surveyors, sub-contractors and apprentices as part of plans to double the workforce in 2021.

It has recently added three new surveyors to help cover Romford, Portsmouth and Milton Keynes and there are also plans for expansion outside of the region into Swindon.

Peter Horlock concludes;

These are very exciting times for the business. We have grown consistently over the last few years and we want to continue that in a sustainable way by expanding into new locations and through staff development and training.

To that end, we will soon be opening our Prime Performance Academy on site to help to train our team with regards to customer service and sales but right now we have vacancies out on the road to help service our expanding customer base.

Whilst the pandemic has been a challenge for many small businesses, Prime Time Boilers has continued to operate safely and grow sustainably and plans for expansion have continued, as Peter explains;

We are looking to double the team by the end of the year with regards to surveyors and installers and are already making good progress there with some great new team members coming on board.

That will help us to continue our expansion in terms of installation, replacement and upgrades across London and the South East and also further afield. I would urge anybody who is interested in a career with us to check out our jobs page (http://www.primetimeboilers.co.uk/jobs) and to get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
