New Southampton office with expanded team follows acquisition by business solution specialists

Sci-Net invests in Southampton with new hires and office launch.

A strategic acquisition by an Oxfordshire firm has paved the way for a new office to open in Southampton, 30 new roles added across the company, and an apprenticeship academy established to nurture aspiring developers.

Sci-Net Business Solutions designs and delivers ERP (enterprise resource planning), CRM (customer relationship management) and cloud infrastructure solutions, to help companies increase efficiency and profitability.

The Microsoft Gold Partner recently acquired the Microsoft Dynamics division of Blue Rock Systems, which was established in Shamrock Quay Marina, Southampton in 2005.

The launch of Sci-Net’s Southampton office is part of an ambitious growth trajectory that has seen the firm appoint an additional 30 employees to the company across its two bases, to meet the needs of new and existing customers.

This success has prompted Sci-Net to forecast an impressive 25% year-on-year growth over the next five years – after already adding 30% each year for the past three years.

Sci-Net managing director Duncan Fergusson, said: “Blue Rock’s well-established and reputable Microsoft division has great parallels with our own business values, making this an exciting strategic development for Sci-Net. With combined resources, talented staff, and expertise, we will continue to build upon our firm foundations as one of UK’s leading Dynamics 365 partners, whilst providing all of our customers with the very best software solutions and exceptional levels of customer service.”

Recognising the importance of attracting and supporting aspiring talent, Sci-Net has recently established its own academy, taking over the training of four apprentices, who would otherwise have been at risk of redundancy. Furthermore, the software house has launched its undergraduate programme and has welcomed its first post-graduate trainee consultant from the University of Portsmouth. The new starter will participate in a fast-track training scheme to develop knowledge across the company’s operations.

Sci-Net hopes to expand the scheme further in future, to nurture a new generation of tech talent. Fergusson added: “Finding the right people is fundamental to growth, and our customers’ success, and we are now well-positioned to fulfil our business ambitions. We’re investing in our facilities both in Southampton and our Chipping Norton HQ, and in flagship industry events too, to build our presence as a leading Dynamics 365 partner. It’s an exciting time for our team and our customers.”

Sci-Net was a Gold sponsor of the South Coast Summit – the largest Microsoft Cloud technology conference to be held in the UK – which attracted over 1,400 attendees to Southampton on 15/16 October 2021.

The new office for Sci-Net is located at: Enterprise House, Ocean Village, Southampton SO14 3XB.
