Local homebuilder supports Keighley charity with £1,000 donation to help most vulnerable

Local homebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has continued to support the communities in which it builds by donating £1,000 to Keighley-based Living Lights as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative.

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has supported Living Lights as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative which sees the homebuilder donate £1,000 to a registered local or national charity each month.

Living Lights is a Christian outreach charity that is dedicated to tackling hidden poverty in local communities. The charity supports the most vulnerable in Keighley, West Yorkshire and surrounding areas by offering practical, emotional and spiritual support. The charity runs a mobile food bank, home visit service and drop in centre available to those in need. With the help of the Community Fund, Living Lights will be able to continue to provide these essential services and its vital outreach work to reach more people in need.

Founder and Director of Living Lights, Patrick McDonnell said: “We would like to sincerely thank Barratt Homes Yorkshire West for their generous funding donation. This funding will support us to carry out our vital outreach work with the most vulnerable in our local community, who are living in food and fuel poverty.

Living lights continue to run a mobile food bank and outreach service in Keighley and surrounding areas, and we greatly appreciate this fantastic support of Barratt Homes’ Community Fund. This funding, alongside the amazing support we receive from the local community with food, goods and monetary donations, will allow us to reach many more families in need.“

Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, added: “We are always looking for ways to continue to support the communities in which we build, so we are thrilled that we were able to support Living Lights which is doing amazing and important work in Keighley and the surrounding area.

“We look forward to working with more charities across the region who will benefit from our Community Fund throughout 2021.”
