100 per cent renewable electricity supplier launches shipping partnership
A “100 per cent renewable electricity supplier” has announced a partnership with Barrow Green Gas for shipping services.
Barrow has been contracted by Good Energy for gas shipping services to continue to supply renewable energy to Good Energy’s customers. The partnership will build on the two companies’ existing relationship and will help Good Energy transition to becoming its own gas shipper.
Good Energy supplies 10 per cent green gas (biomethane) to domestic customers via its relationship with Barrow, a volume it has ambitions to increase following this agreement.
Nigel Pocklington, chief executive officer of Good Energy, said: “Partnering with Barrow not only ensures there is no disruption to the service we provide our customers, it also builds on a valuable and longstanding partnership we have with the UK’s leading green gas business.
“Looking ahead, our extensive experience in trading renewable electricity alongside our existing array of counterparty relationships means we are well placed to become our own gas shipper, and Barrow is an ideal partner for that journey.”
Tim Davis, managing director of Barrow, said: “We have long been delighted to help supply Good Energy’s climate-conscious customers with green gas. This partnership extension deepens the link between two businesses committed to a greener Britain.”
