Wallsend furniture company looks to expand internationally
A North East office and home furniture company is on track to turn over £135k in its first year in business as it plans international expansion.
RESS Furniture produces custom-made furniture made from steel, marble, glass and wood. Its selection of console, coffee and side tables as well as breakfast bars and mirrors have been sold and shipped both nationally and internationally since the company’s inception in November 2020.
RESS Furniture, whose production factory is based in Wallsend, has produced over 300 pieces of furniture that have been shipped across the UK & Ireland. The company is now gaining interest from international clients in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
With a team of six behind the company, RESS Furniture intends to expand its team across its administration, design and assembly departments as the company continues to grow.
Company director, Grant Davidson commented: “RESS Furniture specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of fully assembled custom made furniture. We create all of our pieces predominately from steel, which is paired with marble, glass or wood to create unique modern furniture to fit any style of home.
“With the company only being established in November 2020, we have had a very successful 11 months.
“With increasing interest from the international market, we are focusing our efforts on producing furniture and accessories that can be shipped with ease to locations outside of the UK, including four types of mirror that we’re looking to release in November.”
Several commercial contracts are currently in the works with the company, along with a number of new products in development. Thus, 2022 is set to see the company take steps in growing to reach a larger, international audience.
