Newcastle property specialist transforms former night club into tech office

Newcastle property developer Adderstone Group has revamped the former residence of Baja Beach Club, Gateshead for its new purpose as an office for tech firm Aspire Technology Solutions.

Adderstone Group is a privately-owned, property investment and development business established in the North of England in 2000.

The completion of its work on the Pipewell Quay property was marked with a celebratory event on November 5 with staff from both Aspire and Adderstone in attendance. Guests were treated to refreshments and a fireworks display.

Aspire Technology Solutions is an award-winning IT managed service provider and internet service provider. It delivers technology solutions across cloud, connectivity, telephony, technical support, cyber security, and professional services.

Adderstone founder and CEO Dr Ian Bagget said: “Pipewell Quay is our 4th development on Gateshead Quays. All credit to Gateshead Council for getting how niche developments help catalyse wider regeneration; inviting brilliant businesses like Aspire to the party.

“Our construction team also deserves a special mention for their immense efforts during long, freezing Covid Winter.”

Former owner of Baja Beach Club Robert Hill admires the work Adderstone has put into the premises: “Ian has great foresight and vision, and has converted the site into a great office development.

When we built Baja, we designed it to be converted and Ian has just taken that to the next level.“

MD of Aspire, Chris Fraser said: “To support our continued growth plans, we wanted a new iconic HQ and the best possible working environment for our people. Pipewell Quay was top of our list. We have ambitious plans to improve the connectivity and cloud performance available to North East businesses.

“Our new office based in the heart of the region is perfectly geared to help us deliver our plans. Adderstone have done a tremendous job with the Pipewell Quay office development, the entire team is really fired up about moving in”.
