Menzies LLP appoints new managing partner
The thriving mid-tier accountancy firm, Menzies LLP, has elected Simon Massey to the post of managing partner.
The appointment comes as Julie Adams steps down, following a nine-year tenure as managing partner, ahead of her retirement in 2023.
With more than 30 years’ experience as a professional tax accountant, Simon joined Menzies LLP as partner 18 years ago and for the last seven years has played an active role on the firm’s management committee. During this time, he has supported the development of the firm’s evolving business strategy and the introduction of its ‘brighter thinking’ brand identity. For the past eight years he has also served as office principal of the firm’s Farnborough office.
Going forward, Simon is looking forward to continuing to raise awareness of the firm’s diversity, equity and inclusion agenda and promoting Menzies LLP as an employer of choice to talented accountancy professionals at every stage of their career. He is also seeking to build on the firm’s strong profile as trusted professional practitioners across industry sectors.
Speaking of his mission as managing partner, Simon Massey said: “This is an exciting time to step up to managing partner and I am looking forward to leading the firm through the challenges that will inevitably lie ahead as the economy emerges from the pandemic.
“Over the past 18 months, the firm has learned to think on its feet and take confident decisions quickly in the interests of its stakeholders, both employees and clients. While making the right choices hasn’t always been easy, I believe that as a firm we have grown stronger and more resilient, despite the prevailing uncertainty. With the backing of a strong management committee, I am looking forward to progressing the firm’s growth strategy.”
Reflecting on her time as managing partner, Julie Adams added:
“I feel truly humbled and privileged to have been given the opportunity to perform this role over the past nine years and I would like to thank everyone at the firm for the support they have shown me in various ways over this period. As we adapt to new ways of working, the time is right for me to hand the baton over to Simon to further the firm’s strategic plans.”
