Chester Finance and Umbrella companies support the Countess Charity
Both Zodeq and Exchequer Solutions have been celebrating their fundraising achievements this week, by presenting £2,000 to The Countess Charity following a campaign to raise funds for the Countess’ Blue Skies Balcony Appeal.
Having supported the Countess Charity for a number of years, taking part in various fundraising opportunities, this year saw our Managing Director, Paul Cooney of Zodeq and Mike Lowndes, MD at Exchequer Solutions, tackle the Chester Half Marathon.
The Countess Charity’s Blue Skies Balcony Appeal aims to raise money to build a garden balcony within the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This will provide unwell patients are given the opportunity to visit an outdoor space during their ICU stay, in a safe and infection-controlled environment.
Not only will this space provide a reprieve from the indoors, but previous ICU patients have stressed the importance this change of scenery can have on their wellbeing and, ultimately, their recovery.
Paul Cooney, MD here at Zodeq, has said:
“It is a privilege to support the Countess Charity, that has made a huge difference to the local community through their fundraising efforts. Of course, taking part in the Chester Half Marathon was a wonderful chance to return to some form of normality following a challenging 18 months whilst raising funds that will provide countless benefits to a hospital department that has been integral during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Speaking of Zodeq and Exchequer’s support, Nicola Stubbs, Corporate and Events Fundraiser at the Countess Charity has said:
“We were delighted to receive the support of both Paul and Mike who instantly accepted the offer of a place each in the Chester Half Marathon as soon as I mentioned we had spaces! Both Paul and Mike raised an incredible amount of money for our Blue Skies Balcony appeal to which we are extremely grateful. We are looking forward to working with both Zodeq & Exchequer Solutions in 2022 as our charity partnership continues.”
