Cheshire businesses unite on first ever #DonatableDay to brighten up baths

Members of a new social enterprise supporting businesses across Cheshire came together last week to support the first ever #DonatableDay – spending a day volunteering to improve the grounds surrounding the site of the former Flag Lane Baths in Crewe.

Co-founder Debbie Owen comments: “We launched Donatable to help businesses to engage with their local communities and leave a lasting positive impact.

“On our first #DonatableDay the team carried out a full day of litter picking, weeding, sweeping and building new steps to make the site safe and presentable. Everyone did a fantastic job and we received some lovely feedback and thanks from the organisers - The Lighthouse Centre.”

Set up with the needs of local businesses in mind, Donatable seeks to offer a packaged programme of promotional marketing support services whilst at the same time reinvesting its profits back and volunteering in those local communities its business members serve.

Reverend David Edwards from The Light House Centre leads on the Flag Lane Baths project and comments: “The saying goes that many hands make light work and for me it’s been a privilege having the business community come and support the Flag Lane Baths project and so great to meet the members from Donatable.

“Flag Lane Baths means so much to the local Crewe community as many people learnt how to swim here. To see the facility restored once again will be a terrific thing for the whole community. Today is a good start with Donatable members weeding, clearing debris and tidying up - making a positive Donatable difference, locally.”
