RHCV Host Renault Trucks First Electric Roadshow
East Midlands independent commercial vehicle distributors RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) were chosen as the only site in the region to host a demonstration of latest electric HGVs.
Renault Trucks’ Electric Roadshow visited nine handpicked dealers on its tour across mainland UK, timed to coincide with COP26.
Renault Trucks stopped at RHCV’s headquarters in Nottingham for a half-day event that gave customers an opportunity to test drive the state-of-the-art electric vehicles and learn about the latest developments.
The EV Roadshow travelled from Glasgow to Enfield, with each vehicle covering over 1,100 miles, relying solely on charging at dealer sites and through the national charging infrastructure.
As one of the largest independent Renault Trucks dealers in the country, RHCV was the fifth stop of the Roadshow, providing visitors with the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of switching to electric with the chance to test drive either of the electric vehicles, including: Renault Trucks D Wide 26T Z.E. LEC, Renault Trucks D 16T Z.E. and Renault Trucks Master Z.E.
Nigel Baxter, Managing Director at RHCV, said: “We feel honoured to have taken part in the Renault Trucks EV Roadshow and blown away by the positive feedback from customers who attended on the day. It was a great opportunity for those interested in switching to electric to get a feel for the vehicles first-hand and speak to our Nottingham team about the options available.
“The demand for electric vehicles is growing and we’re proud to be working alongside Renault Trucks as it works towards a net zero goal. Events such as this are extremely valuable to welcome operators to our headquarters, meet the team and discover how we can support their transition to a low carbon transport world.”
Carlos Rodrigues, Managing Director at Renault Trucks UK & Ireland said: “Over 200 people have joined us to experience our fully electric Z.E. range from 3.1t to 26t first hand, to discover more about our approach to net zero, and to discuss their alternative energy ambitions with our electric mobility experts.
“For last mile and city service, as well as medium and heavy duty urban applications, we are ready, and we are showing our commitment to net zero with electric solutions that can cut carbon emissions today.”
Strategically located across the East Midlands, RHCV has expanded from four (Nottingham, Leicester, Alfreton, and Northampton) to six sites this year – with two new locations in Newark and Peterborough.
RHCV has a successful track-record of selling, leasing, servicing, and repairing heavy (HGV) and light commercial (LCV) vehicles across the East Midlands for over four decades and employs over 140 staff. The business also provides a comprehensive range of rental/lease options through sister company, RH Rentals.
