Local company throws open its doors to wildlife charity
Northumberland Wildlife Trust is delighted to have welcomed a new silver category corporate supporter.
The family owned Original Cottages Northumberland, part of the Original Cottages Family has thrown its weight behind the conservation charity and its work to protect and improve wildlife habitats around the region.
Based in Seahouses, the company’s team members live and work in Northumberland, so preserving the natural landscape on their doorstep is just as important to them as it is to their guests who visit the coast and countryside each year.
As part of the recent Great British Beach Clean Week, the team spent an hour cleaning their local beach before handing out free ice creams to passers-by to mark the occasion.
Stacey Turnbull, Brand Manager for Original Cottages Northumberland said: “We are proud to be supporters of Northumberland Wildlife Trust and the fantastic work all its staff and volunteers do in helping the wildlife and nature reserves in our community to thrive.
“We pride ourselves on being a truly local brand committed to protecting the areas we live and work. We also know that our coastline and countryside are two of the main reasons that holidaymakers are drawn to this beautiful part of the country so feel it is part of our role to help maintain and protect the wildlife that attracts them.”
Speaking about the latest addition to the family of corporate supporters, Mike Pratt, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Chief Executive said: “It’s so encouraging for us that everybody at Original Cottages is just as passionate about Northumberland as we are, so I am sure this is going to be a wonderful partnership and look forward to working with them in the future.”
